How do I use the Individual Student Skills Report? – Demo Co.

As of June 2022, teachers can have an individual view of their students’ mastery levels per skill!

Our new Individual Student Skills Report provides deeper insight into your students’ progress toward the mastery of skills across units and courses individually. These insights can help you tune your lesson plan to give extra attention to trouble spots and to celebrate success.

How to access the Individual Student Skills report

First, navigate to the Teacher Dashboard and select the class whose Skills report you’d like to view.

Then, click the student’s name. Finally, click on the Skills tab.

How to use the Individual Student report

At the top of the report, you’ll see three different filters: a course filter, a unit filter, and a mastery level filter. There is also a checkbox you can use to see only the skills you have assigned.

Note: You will only see courses you’ve added to the selected class. You can update the courses at any time in the class’s Settings tab (on the left-hand side panel, under Admin).

Once you’ve set the filters of the report, you’ll see a bar showing

the number of skills your student has at the Mastery levels Attempted, Familiar, Proficient, and Mastered,
and the number of skills your student has not started.

At the bottom of this bar, you’ll see the number of total skills the student has practiced out of the total available, as well as the percentage corresponding to that ratio.

In the example above, we can see that the student carol2 has attempted 12 skills, is familiar with 14 skills, is proficient in 26 skills, has mastered 57 skills, and has not started 12 skills of the Early Math course.

Scrolling down the page, you’ll see the full list of all the units available on that course. Expand any unit by clicking the unit’s name— or the arrow to the left of the unit’s name— to view the skills in that unit. By doing so, you’ll see a list of all skills available showing the student’s current mastery level in each skill along with a link to the activities.

You can also click the Expand all button in order to expand every unit at once. And to collapse all units at once, you can click the Collapse all button.

If you’re not sure about how students are placed into mastery levels, don’t worry! Just click the grey question mark on the right side of the report.

It was designed to be very complete, which allows teachers to easily follow their students' progress throughout their learning journeys, especially for those who teach several classes and subjects.
